About Zingerman's Delicatessen

Zingerman's Deli was founded in 1982 by Paul Saginaw & Ari Weinzweig. In 1994 we started Zingerman's Bakehouse, making our own bread and pastries. We've since grown into a community of food lovin' businesses around Ann Arbor, MI.

This group covers the bars, diners, family restaurants, fast-food spots and other kitchens that serve pizza alongside a broader menu. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Sports bars fill up on game nights and often run pizza-and-pitcher specials; diners and fast-food chains keep long hours, sometimes around the clock. Sales tax is added at the register on top of menu prices.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 11 am–7 pm. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is zingermansdeli.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜… Zingerman's Deli is a true college institution! The sandwiches are absolutely huge and incredibly awesome, definitely worth the hype. You should expect long lines, especially if you visit on a football weekend, but it is well worth the wait. On top of the amazing food, the staff service is super friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend!

This has been on my bucket list to try for a while. Went with friends Saturday. Did not realize they has a market too making parking Γ  little more difficult to find but still only a 8 minute walk. Had the 50/50 and Rueben. Sandwiches are large and amazing. Takes about 30 minutes before they were ready. I'm sure on a weekday it would be quicker. Have a great deli selection/ market too. We'll worth the visit and Γ  return visit. They have dining space upstairs which was perfect as it was 88 degrees outside.

Obviously Zingerman’s had to adjust prices just like everyone else, for inflation, but you don’t get the same value as you used to. 2009: small sandwich $12.99, 1/3 pound. Large sandwich $15.99, 1/2 pound. 2026: $21+ gets you just under 1/3 pound. Don’t get me wrong, I believe the quality is there, and the service, well…..it is unmatched compared to over 90% of places. I recommend Rick’s 50/50, but there are a couple of others that are outstanding as well. This place is definitely a staple, and I know people who have to come here (from out of state) when they are in Michigan. Go Blue! Of course I will return, and I highly recommend.

Zingerman's opened in 1982 in a historic building near the Ann Arbor Farmers' Market and has spent the decades since becoming the kind of place that people drive several hours for, which sounds like an exaggeration until you actually go. The Kerrytown neighborhood building is cramped in a pleasant way, pickles hanging from the ceiling, specialty oils and vinegars lining shelves everywhere you look, a counter where you order and a staff that is genuinely enthusiastic about walking you through the options. ZAGAT once called it a national treasure. That lands correctly after a visit. The sandwiches are numbered and the numbering is part of the experience. We started with the Zingerman's Reuben, #2 on the menu, which is Black Angus corned beef hand-sliced thick, piled onto Jewish rye bread with Swiss, house-made Russian dressing, and sauerkraut. It is a serious Reuben. The bread alone, baked at their own Bakehouse, is reason enough to come, with that tight crumb and caraway flavor that holds up under the weight of the filling without getting soggy. We also had the #97, a brisket sandwich with horseradish cream and caramelized onions on rye, which was the kind of sandwich that made conv

Probably one of the best deli & sandwiches in the USA.. Eat a regular size & you will! be comatose.. amazing and a must try in your life. Pricey but Fair for the Caliber of product. I was helped as a 1st timer to order on the touchscreen til I got the hang of it! the customer service was exceptional! Only thing i wish was easy to +add on the option screen to do a double meat option w pastrami(or different protein) corned beef! Etc. The baked goods looked phenomenal and i got the pumpernickel bread and it was so so hearty & delicious. best of the best. The $0.75 both pickles option is mandatory ❀️
